With 30 years of experience in firearms handling, Steve Villyard’s passion for the sport began at age eight, when he received his first .22 rifle. Understanding the potential cost of supplies for the sport his son has taken a liking to, Steve’s father would give him a limited supply weekly and the young marksman learned to make each shot count.

Steve Villyard is one of three firearms experts at CFTS. A father of four children -- all trained in firearms handling and marksmanship – Steve’s love of teaching firearms comes through for each client.

For more than 20 years, Steve Villyard has been active with the Elbert County 4H. As coordinator for the Youth Shooting Sports program, Steve Villyard dedicates upwards of 1800 hours a year helping young firearm enthusiasts realize their personal best in the sport.

Specializing in .12-gauge and .20-gauge shotgun, this mechanical engineer by profession doesn’t just teach his students to aim and shoot -- in-keeping with the CFTS instructor program -- he helps his students build skills founded in the science of shooting to produce results for each client.
